Background: Enteral endoscopic metal stenting has gained growing popularity as a treatment modality for gastrointestinal stenosis from both malignant and benign causes. It has been an accepted method to palliate advanced malignant tumors that are deemed unresectable. Indications for endoscopic placement of self-expanding metal stents include widening of luminal occlusion and maintaining enteral feeding access. Little data is available on its use in tumoral bleeding.

Conclusion: Endoscopic placement of self-expanding metal stents can be a feasible modality to control tumoral bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract with minimal risk of complications.
